What is Montessori?

The Montessori system creates classrooms that are beautifully crafted environments designed to meet the needs of children. This type of learning, developed by Dr Maria Montessori led to a deeper understanding of language, mathematics, science, music and social interaction.
Why Montessori?
A Montessori child is allowed to make creative choices in their learning while the classroom and the teacher offers age appropriate activities to grow using the Vertical Grouping system, allowing your child to develop an absorbent mind.
What is Vertical Grouping?
The benefits of the vertical grouping method, allows children to relate to other children of all ages while working together. It encourages responsibility, communication and patience which is a key aspect to social development. However children are graded according to normative standards of their age.

What is the Absorbent Mind?
From birth to six years are the years of the Absorbent Mind. In this period of growth, the child develops rapidly and effectively because of his/her incredible power of absorption. This is a time of enormous potential in the development of the individual. The fundamental principle of this stage is the recognition of the child as a spontaneous learner. The absorbent mind allows the child to absorb everything that takes place in the environment.
